Adobe Photoshop Lesson 3

Objectives

  • Use the Brushes palette
  • Use the brush tool
  • Use the eraser tools
  • Create blend between different colors

Brushes Palette

  • Contains unlimited number of options and setting to create and customize them.
  • The Options bar contains settings which control how they interact with the image.

Blending Modes

  • Affect how paint interacts with the pixels underneath the painted area
  • Opacity affects the transparency of the color, pattern, or effect

Painting Tools

-Used to add color to an image

-It includes:

  • Brush tool
  • Gradient tool
  • History brush & Art history Brush
  • Color Replacement tool

-Only works on pixels

Gradient Tools

  • A total of 5 gradients options available
  • Preset gradients is choose able

Eraser Tools - the size and shape is changeable

-Normal eraser tool paints in 2 ways:

  • Background layer - background only
  • Normal layer - affects everything making that area transparent

2 Types of Eraser

  • Background eraser which only affects the background
  • Magic eraser which affect the same color of the area which was clicked
